This is such a gorgeous recounting of an experience that sounds similar in many ways to my own. My first mushroom experience was one of the most profound and beautiful experiences of my life. Like you, everything was revealed all at once so it all made perfect sense but then was promptly forgotten. In my experience, I saw the Source of consciousness and understood that is the origin of us all—I am the universe, and the universe is me—and also where consciousness goes once the physical body dies. I was told that nothing that happens here on Earth matters; it’s not the point. It’s hard to put into words what I felt and saw, but it’s changed my outlook on life, the purpose of life and how to be happy. Your words articulate what I feel, what I learned. Thank you for such beautiful writing!
I loved this. Your words brought me instantly back to some of my own journeys through this sacred terrain, with so many similarities. Thank you for sharing ✨
I haven’t explicitly, no. But my time with psychedelics and plant medicines have informed much of what I do and write, in general - especially my last aya ceremony, which pieces of this reminded me of so much. 🩷
They’ve guided my life since I was 17, for the last decade. They led me to where I am today, to founding Psygaia and the research Im doing at the University of Ottawa, which I consider my life’s work.
Mushrooms have been the best teachers! Aya and huachuma too!
I find that mushrooms are less clear in their instructions than aya though. Mushrooms are more like tricksters, aya is more like a mother.
If you want to read my hypothesis, check it out on my Substack. I shared 3 parts of it! Would love to get your thoughts on it.
Ohhhhhhhhh I’ve never read a more beautiful retelling of someone’s journey! 🥹 Thank you for putting your experience into words for the rest of us. ❤️
So true, immensely grateful as well!

I cried. This was so beautiful!
