Lovely essay, Julia! I agree 100% with the wisdom you expressed. I’ve been on the snail trail for a long time despite my mental affliction of hurry, worry, and never enough.

hail the snail self

soft but with firm boundaries

never wears a watch

drinking deeply of

the present moment we get

drunk on tiny things

ego versus heart

one is attached to results

the other let’s go

gazing at the wall

zen dissolves hurry worry

and never enough

Another beautiful writing. I love starting the morning doing things that nurture me, cultivating connecting to my heart and breath upon waking, <3

Thank you, Silvana. I agree, slow mornings are the best to foster heart connection and set the tone for the day :)

Re-reading - - touched by your struggling out loud and wish to inform others

I don't think the healing path is joining the right club - - I think it's finding your essence, the essence of the universe, the essence we all share. Find it - - feel where it lives in your body - - create awareness pathways to access it and do so frequently - - use the sensation of connection to essence as your new compass.

Helpers: plant medicine; meditation (did you take Julia's course?); breathwork; InterPlay; multiple authentic, compassionate, like-minded/hearted communities - - regular, intentional connections, a higher version of what we call integration in plant medicine.

Also: journey, not destination

Also: all parts are welcome. Strengthening IFS self energy grows compassion and neutrality and allows the parts to release their stories and integrate. YOU become centered, grounded, and connected in essence.

Keep it going!

Arrive in essence.

Thanks for this poetic share, Dennis. Couldn‘t agree more!

Yes, I did Julia‘s course last year. She’s an incredibly wise, seasoned and well-spoken spiritual teacher and synthesizes the why, what and how of meditation beautifully, including personal practice. I also enjoyed the group setting of the course, the meditation practice is such a lone endeavor most of the time.

...and when we slow down, time actually expands —along with the mind.

We have to live each day as if it's going to be our last one; and in the same time as if we are gonna live forever.

In a way, we got to embrace simultaneously both our inner Buddha and our inner Zorba.

A common approach of both these figures is to hold no expectations.

Cheers from Greece!

I love this, Apostolis - "when we slow down, time expands". What is the inner Zorba? Greetings back to Greece :)

1) discover what the heart sensations feel like 2) practice orienting toward them 3) make them your new compass 4) repeat

Amen, Dennis. This has become my daily practice. Simple, but not easy. Much easier when we slow down though.
