Thank you, Julia! Great description of the indescribable. I especially liked the following paragraph, which I have experienced:
As I once again dissolved and became everything all at once, everything that had ever happened and everything that ever will, I found myself suddenly and miraculously at what I can only describe as the center of the universe. Pure cosmic consciousness.
One of the great frustrations of my life is trying to explain mystical states to people who have not experienced them. Of course, it is impossible. I must restrain myself from insisting people take the medicine! I don’t want to seem like a drug pusher, especially after 35 years as an addiction counselor!😂
If the spiritual revolution continues—and humankind does not self-destruct—I envision a time when, through psychedelics and meditation, people will live in an ongoing state of love and joy, immersed in beauty.
Simple things, like drinking a glass of water, will be deeply fulfilling. Loving relationships, moonlight, sunshine, flowers, blue sky, and plain dirt will replace cravings for money, fame, and power. People will enjoy radical material simplicity—an ecological blessing.
Keep up the great work, Julia!
George
PS There is a typo—you meant conservationally not conversationally. Auto-spell-check is a coyote!
Thanks for the - as always - thoughtful reflections, George!
I share your vision. What you describe is exactly how I've found my life increasingly impacted recently. Finding beauty in every experience, no matter how small. Beyond the medical benefits of psychedelics, I cannot wait to witness the cultural shifts that are upon us.
PS Thanks for catching the typo and letting me know - it's now corrected :)
I was only in New York right after, I've returned to LA since where it's a much better environment for integration. My feelings about the experience haven't changed much, if anything they've deepened. I've even been able to tap into the beauty I experienced in other ways (e.g., through classical music - see this week's article). So it continues to be incredibly rewarding.
Thank you for sharing the link to the almost 30 episode on beauty, it made me cry as I heard. I struggle a lot with depression, I honestly can't afford to get my mental state checked out by a doctor. For the past year I've been off emotionally and that one episode resonated a lot with me so thank you.
Gaby, this makes me so happy to hear, thanks for sharing. Dr. Zach Bush is truly amazing, he has some other great ones too, e.g. with Rick Roll. I'm sending you a lot of strength until the hopefully soon new season of life begins. ♡
